At 318 Art & Frame, we’re proud to showcase the work of local artist Kay Wallace, whose vibrant paintings celebrate the culture, landmarks, and spirit of Louisiana.
A Shreveport native, Kay has been immersed in art since childhood. After earning a BFA in Graphic Design from Louisiana Tech University, she spent over two decades in children and family ministry before returning to her artistic roots in 2018. Now painting full-time, Kay works primarily in acrylics, using bold colors to create realistic depictions that resonate with warmth and familiarity.
Her work has been featured in several notable exhibitions, including the River Road Show in Baton Rouge, the New Orleans International Show, and the "Bloom" exhibition at the Norton Art Gallery in Shreveport. One of her most recognized pieces, “Herby K’s – Inside Out”, is currently on display at the Shreveport Regional Airport as part of the Artport program, where it will remain through 2028. This painting captures the charm of the iconic local restaurant, offering travelers a vibrant glimpse into Shreveport’s cultural heritage.
Kay’s art reflects her deep connection to Louisiana’s culture and natural beauty, often drawing inspiration from local landmarks and everyday scenes. Her pieces are celebrated for their vivid colors and realistic style, inviting viewers to experience the familiar in new and meaningful ways.
Whether you’re a longtime admirer or new to her work, Kay Wallace’s art offers a heartfelt celebration of Louisiana life, making it a perfect addition to any collection.
