Whimsy, Soul & Good Juju – Meet the Maker Behind the Magic

At 318 Art & Frame, we’re passionate about celebrating local artists who bring heart, heritage, and handcrafted brilliance into the world—and Tressie Jordan is the very definition of that magic.

A Louisiana native, Tressie is a self-taught mixed media artist whose work is steeped in story, texture, and a love for all things vintage. Her signature Good Juju Dolls are instantly recognizable—whimsical, soulful, and rich with personality. Each doll is handmade with antique textiles, vintage jewelry, hand-sculpted clay beads, and found treasures. No two are ever alike, and every one is accompanied by a handwritten story or blessing that captures its unique spirit.

“Every piece I create has its own energy,” Tressie says. “I layer in history, color, and intention—so it’s more than just art, it’s a feeling.”

Her creative journey is rooted in a long career in the luxury textile industry, where she developed an eye for detail and a deep appreciation for craftsmanship. Now, she brings that same sensibility to her art—blending the old with the new in pieces that feel like heirlooms from another world.

In addition to her dolls, Tressie creates vibrant mixed media paintings—think Roman mosaic meets Southern folk art—with layers of color, embellishment, and play. Her work has been featured in galleries around the country, and we’re honored to showcase her art right here at 318 Art & Frame in Shreveport.

Tressie also owns Maison de Lionne, a historic bed and breakfast in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, where her artistic style infuses every corner with charm, creativity, and character.

Whether you’re drawn to her intricate beading, bold textures, or the heartfelt stories behind each piece, Tressie Jordan’s art brings warmth, wonder, and a touch of good juju wherever it goes.
