The plainest of the herons in this batch and, for a lot of people, the best one — a single bird in blue and yellow ochre with nothing behind him, on a wide cream Irish flat shell. Melissa Fouts left the fluting alone and put the gold only at the edge.
Quiet enough for a bathroom counter or a bookshelf, where a busier piece would argue with the room.
